About the Family Processes and Child Development Lab

Hello and welcome to the Family Processes and Child Development Lab website! We are an interdisciplinary research team based in the Child Clinical Psychology program at the University of Washington. Dr. Debrielle T. Jacques is the lab's founder and director since 2022 when she joined the University of Washington Department of Psychology faculty.

Our research examines the effects of parental addiction and substance use on parenting, family processes, and child development. Our work also focuses on elucidating nuanced psychological and developmental pathways underlying associations between parental addiction, family functioning, and child functioning. We do this by examining factors, associations, and complex processes from multiple levels of analysis and via integrated theoretical frameworks.
